Murder on the Orient Express is the first Agatha Christie novel I have read. I really enjoyed it. Personally, I found the audiobook/play enhanced my reading: I could hear the varying accents, the train chugging along and doors closing, altogether incredibly immersive. I imagined that if I had not had the amazing experience of listening to the characters, I may have found it more difficult to remember all of the characters, as there are a fair few. However, Christie’s character building is very interesting via Poirot’s perspective and analysis as the detective.

… And Agatha kept me guessing. At about 3/4 of the way through, I thought I had sussed out the murder because so many things pointed in that direction. But no. The culprit was still a mystery.

9.0/10.
